Quinn Gagos

Quinn Gagos (she/her) joins SDT this season. Gagos is excited to expand on her over 25 years of dance experience in a new environment that centers on such a positive and collaborative mission. Growing up in Oakdale, CA, Gagos trained in ballet, jazz, and tap at Valley Oak School of Dance. She completed summer programs with Central California Summer Dance Conservatory hosted by Juline’s School of Dance, Ballet San Jose, and Central West Ballet. She joined Central West Ballet as an Artist for their 2014/15 Season. After graduating high school, Gagos studied dance at The George Washington University along with Psychology and Art History. While there, her training consisted of post-modern dance, improvisation technique, and choreography. While in university, Gagos was the dance department stage manager, rehearsal director for guest choreographer Ann Carlson, presented work by guest choreographers Anton Ovchinnikov and Erica Rebollar, and choreographed multiple pieces. Gagos has had many mentors in dance, but she would be remiss not to highlight the impact of Maida Withers, who opened the mind and the doors to many amazing opportunities in Gagos’ life. After graduating college in 2019, Gagos moved back to California, where she has participated in short-term dance projects as both choreographer and performer. Most recently, Gagos attended a Life/Art Process workshop by Daria Halprin of Tamalpa Institute, hosted at Esalen Institute, and looks forward to expanding on the teachings in her work. Outside of dance, Gagos enjoys skiing, aerial sling, photography, various other art mediums, and spending time in the mountains.
